Statement of Support for Virtual Environments (Versions 5.6 and above)
Mitel Contact Center Solutions and Mitel Call Accounting are fully supported in virtualized environments as server-side applications only. Product testing has been limited to VMWare, Microsoft Virtual Server, and Hyper-V. Support for virtualization requires Contact Center Solutions / Call Accounting Version 5.6 or greater and Mitel SDK 3.1 or greater.
Customers using Microsoft Virtual Server are strongly recommended to use Version 2005 R2 with Service Pack 1 and to stay up to date with future patches and service packs. For more information and downloads, please visit http://www.microsoft.com/windowserversystem/virtualserver/.
Customers using Hyper-V are strongly recommended to use Version 2008 R1 and to stay up to date with future patches and service packs. Hyper-V testing was based on following specifications that we recommend as minimum requirements: Dell PowerEdge1950 server, dual CPU Core 2, 2.4 Ghz, 24 GB of RAM, Intel Xeon microprocessor, and 2 x 1 TB hard drives. NOTE: If you will use Contact Center Solutions / Call Accounting Hyper-V images on the same Hyper-V server as Intelligent Queue images, we recommend you increase your server resources by a minimum of 25%.

While Mitel Contact Center Solutions and Mitel Call Accounting are expected to function properly in a virtual environment, there may be performance implications which can invalidate the minimum system requirements as outlined in this document.
NOTE: Microsoft Exchange Server, a vital component of Mitel Multimedia Contact Center, can only be virtualized on Virtual Server 2005 R2 or greater or Hyper-V. For more details, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320220.
CAUTION: Any virtualization maintenance, such as snap shots, copying large files, and Windows updates on the host server can affect guest image performance.
NOTE:
- Client side applications are not supported in virtualized environments.
- Intelligent Queue web call backs and Music on Hold are the only server side features that are not supported in a virtualized environment due to their requirement for a sound card.
Should prairieFyre Software Inc. suspect that the virtualization layer/software is the root cause of a problem, the customer may be required to:
- install the software on a non virtualized server to determine if the problem still exists
- contact the appropriate vendor to resolve the virtualization layer/software issue
